I couldn't believe it!
I woke up this morning to the sound of rain. It hasn't rained here in a long time and everytime we get clouds, they tease us. Well not this time! The three months of dust has now been washed away. This has probably been the hardest thing for us to adjust to. It won't rain for six months at a time, and at first that sounds nice, then you realize everything needs a little rain to wash it off now and then. I wouldn't say the streets are actually cleaner, but they look like it for now!

Hi Leah, just dropping by from Ruhiyyih's post today, and noticed your comment. We live in the Pacific Northwest, and right now it is doing what it does much of the year.....raining. It keeps the sidewalks clean, and all the cars look like they've just gone through the carwash. And, the garden and grass? Well, we've got to mow and weed more than we ever care to. Have a great day, and enjoy the rain.
Hi Leah! That is my mama, above. She has a fantastic blog! Yes, in DC we have afternoon thunderstorms that remind of the rain at home but it never got warm enough for lightning. I LOVE the smell of rain too. I enjoy seeing your pics and reading about your life there! Take care! :)
